This means that Sony has at least two big upcoming games that it could feature at a State of Play showcase. Not to mention, the Resident Evil 4 remake will be released on March 24 with the first (and likely only) DLC for Horizon Forbidden West following suit on April 19. On top of what could be a Metal Gear Solid reveal, Sony will be releasing the PSVR2 on February 22. Sony has held a State of Play showcase for two years straight and it's highly unlikely it will break the streak this year. It's still pretty amazing how Hideo Kojima told a story that came full circle before leaving Konami. But, as big as a Metal Gear Solid remake is, it makes sense to use it to kick off or cap off a showcase, similar to what happened with The Last of Us Part 1 at last year's Summer Game Fest. Unless, of course, Konami has a Metal Gear presentation planned, similar to what it did with Silent Hill where it announced, among other things, the Silent Hill 2 Remake for the PS5. If the unannounced remake is indeed exclusive to the PlayStation 5, we'll likely hear about it at the next PlayStation State of Play. It's believed that Konami is working on more Silent Hill games than initially announced, which is great news for the company's other franchises. If it's any consolation, the Japanese video game publisher has been slowly reviving some of its forgotten franchises, starting with Castlevania and Silent Hill. Konami is known for two things: making some of the most iconic games in history and also shelving them in recent years.
